Dr. Manuel Joaquín (specialist in laser liposculpture)
Trained in plastic surgery at the university hospitals of Erlangen and Regensburg (Germany), with fellowships in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. For almost 20 years he ran his own plastic and laser surgery clinic in Berlin.

No. It changes your shape, not your weight. It’s for people close to a stable weight with fat that won’t shift with diet or exercise.
Where would I have surgery?
At Hospital Recoletas, Hospital Quirónsalud, Hospital Ochoa or Hospital Vithas, depending on availability. The hospital is confirmed once your date is set.
I don’t live in Spain. Can I still do this?
Yes. The consultation is online and the doctor speaks English and German. Depending on his schedule, he also sees patients in Frankfurt.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What data we process and where it comes from
We only process the data you give us when you contact us: your name, phone number and messages on WhatsApp; your username, messages and answers to our automated assistant on Instagram or Facebook; information about your health, history and the treatment you’re interested in during the video consultation; and technical data from browsing this website (IP address, browser). The treatment you’re interested in and anything you share about your body or health are health data, a special category under Article 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We only process them with your explicit consent.
3. What we use it for and on what legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and book your assessment: your consent and steps taken at your request before a contract (Art. 6.1.a and 6.1.b GDPR).
- To assess your case and give you an estimated quote: your explicit consent to the processing of health data (Art. 9.2.a GDPR).
- If you decide to have surgery, to provide healthcare and keep your medical record: provision of healthcare and legal obligations (Art. 9.2.h GDPR and Spanish Law 41/2002 on patient autonomy).
We do not make automated decisions about you. The Instagram messaging assistant only sends you information; the assessment is always made by the doctor. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to info@dr-harrer.de, without affecting processing carried out before.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell or hand over your data. Only the following have access: the doctor’s team, to answer your messages and manage your appointment; Hospital Recoletas, Hospital Quirónsalud, Hospital Ochoa or Hospital Vithas, only if you decide to have surgery, to schedule and perform it at the hospital available on your date; Meta Platforms (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook), the platforms you use to write to us; ManyChat, our automated Instagram messaging assistant; Netlify, which hosts this website; and public authorities and courts, only when required by law.
International transfers. Meta, ManyChat and Netlify may process data in the United States, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
5. How long we keep it
Contacts who do not become patients: 12 months from the last message, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Patients: the medical record is kept for at least 5 years from discharge (Law 41/2002). After that, data is deleted or blocked for as long as legal liabilities may arise.
6. Your rights
You can ask at any time to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict its use, to receive it in a portable format, or to withdraw your consent. Write to info@dr-harrer.de stating which right you are exercising; we will reply within one month. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
7. Cookies, minors, security and changes
Cookies. This website does not install analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, we will ask for your consent first. Minors. Our services are for people aged 18 and over; we do not knowingly process data of minors. Security. We apply technical and organisational measures to protect your data and maintain medical confidentiality. Please don’t send photos or medical reports via Instagram; if we need them, we will tell you how to send them. Changes. We may update this policy; the version in force is always the one published on this website.
